Moon Rock Science Experiment for Preschoolers

Mix up science experiments with sensory explorations to introduce your preschooler to STEM.

Our kids love getting their hands dirty so we made a point to include hands-on STEM activities into the Moon themed unit.

We cooked up this simple science experiment using ingredients from our kitchen to make moon rocks!

KaBoom

  • Prepare your life for GOO
  • Vinegar in a small bowl
  • Transfer vinegar with syringes, teaspoons, droppers
  • Play

What you can not hear in the images is the whispered – wow’s – I will have to get the video up soon.

My eyes widened as the little one decided to just dump the whole rock into the vinegar cup. Fearing the mess :cringe: the oldest thinks hey, that’s a great idea – DUMP!

Ya’ll, it was so easy to clean up!

Don’t even sweat the mess. Encourage it!

Considering the moon rocks are water, baking powder and vinegar – whose dining table doesn’t need a deep clean?
